Join us for a jam packed day of 3on3 Women's Basketball, DJ Nate on the decks, Refugee Food stalls, MC Jane, Yoga warmup with Kate, shooting competitions and Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed teams! Located at one of Sydney's most iconic recreation centres, this women's only event is one of four to be hosted in 2019!
What could be a better way to celebrate life, hoops, being a woman, and the latest craze to hit the hoops scene, 3x3 basketball!
The first two dates are confirmed
Round 1 : Sunday 10th March (registration currently open)
Round 2 : Sunday 19th May
Team registrations are now open and you must have 4 players to register.
There are 2 groups.. Women’s Open & Women’s Casual.
What's the difference you ask?
Women's Open will see teams of players who are currently hooping in a competition, anywhere from div 1 to div 2/3.. Or you are somewhat athletic, competitive, or at least giant... so you'll probably fit in there just fine too.
Women's Casual are for teams of more social players who compete in lower divisions or mixed teams. You have some skill but mostly just looking for some fun and a big laugh. Beginners are welcome to join this category though we recommend you have at least 1 player who knows what they're doing out there! This category also includes youth teams but not the super rep ones, they'll be in Women's Open.
If you're not sure, just ask by clicking here!
On the other hand, if you don’t have a team and want to be put in one just let us know.
What's the cost?
$200 per team (up to 4 players)
You can either pay via Paypal, via this website or direct deposit.
Either way, will receive a link to confirm your team has been accepted into the tournament first.
How many games do we play?
ALL teams will play a minimum of 6 games throughout the day.
10 of those teams will play 7 games and 6 will end up playing 8 - which means you've made it to some sort of Final!
Each game is 10 minutes long, or first team to score 21 points (winning by 2).
Although we are adopting the FIBA platform and 3x3 rules, and even the official ball, the only rule we are not going to use is the 12 second shot-clock rule.
In case you didn't know, this is a totally self funded event by Each One Teach One Inc and is intended to help promote women’s health and participation in sport and fun activities, so besides the registration fee helping to cover our costs, your contributions of any kind, (whether that be financial, helping to promote the event, offering to volunteer as an organizer, scorer on the day, or have any connections to contribute to the prize giving) we would love to hear from you! Contact us.
We can’t wait to have some half court fun with you again at this year’s Queens of the Court! 🤙🏽
