We present 4 tournaments in 2019 ;
Round 1 : Sunday 10th March (completed)
Round 2 : Sunday 19th May (registration currently open)
Round 3 : Sunday 11th August
Round 4 : Sunday 3rd November
Team registrations are now open and you need 4 players to register.
There are 2 categories.. Women’s Open & Women’s Casual.
What's the difference?
Women's Open is for teams of players who are currently hooping in a competition, anywhere from div 1 to div 2/3.. Or you are somewhat athletic, competitive, or giant... you'll probably fit in there just fine too.
Women's Casual is for teams who are more 'social' players, competing in lower divisions or mixed teams. You have some skill but mostly just looking for some fun and a big laugh. Beginners are welcome to join this category though we recommend you have at least 1 player who knows what they're doing out there! This category also includes youth teams but not the super rep ones, they'll be in Women's Open.
If you're not sure, just ask by clicking here!
On the other hand, if you don’t have a team and want to be put in one just let us know.
What's the cost?
$200 per team (up to 4 players)
Once your team is accepted, you can pay via Paypal or direct deposit.
How many games do we play?
ALL teams will play a minimum of 6 games throughout the day.
10 of those teams will play 7 games and 6 will end up playing 8 - which means you've made it to some sort of Final!
Each game is 10 minutes long, or first team to score 21 points (winning by 2 points).
Although we are adopting the FIBA 3x3 structure, even the official ball, the main rule we are leaving to the pros is the 12 second shot-clock.
This event is self-funded by Each One Teach One Inc and we rely heavily on volunteers to help pull everything together. These events are promoted Sydney-wide and encourage women from the various cultures represented in Sydney to be involved and to share their stories and backgrounds. We use the events as a means to empower and raise awareness around women's social, mental and health issues. The events encourage civic participation which provides opportunities through teamwork to network and connect with others to create strong support systems. The combination of the exercise and building support systems is known to assist with improved mental health outcomes. The events also promote healthy eating and living. So besides your registration fee helping to cover our costs, contributions of any kind, (whether financial, promotion of the event through your contacts, volunteering your time, or perhaps you have a connection to contribute to the prize giving), we would love to hear from you!
We can’t wait for the half court fun at our upcoming Queens of the Court!
