What a ride!
This past week I had the opportunity to spend 8 days playing the sport I love at the Pan Pacific Masters. Playing at the Games was the goal I set myself after surgery in April. I played 10 games over 8 days and while we didn't medal, we exhausted ourselves trying. We had the privilege of playing against ex Opals and ex WNBA players who can always teach us a thing or two! We were also lucky enough to be around American basketball great's like "The Helicopter", who, along with a number of other ex professionals was playing in the 70+ age group! - Jen A massive shout out to an awesome week at the Pan Pacific Masters in the Gold Coast playing basketball. Thank you to my awesome roomies - for sharing their beautiful stories of their family and for their support and encouragement this week. Thank you to Katie for the hard work and time you put in organising. Thank you to my team mates for allowing me to be a member of your team and for your love and support. Thank you to Coach-Emma for your support, shoulder to cry on, encouragement and belief in me that, “I had this”.

What a blast... Epic in all ways... who needs to go to theme parks when you can go on the Pan Pacific roller coaster with my Bees Neez! Great bunch of people that change your expectations about what you can do. 
What an epic week! 7 days competing against some of the legends of the game, 21 games between us, big wins, near misses and a lot of good fun with fantastic people. Can’t really ask for much more in the way of a challenge, a great learning experience from a master of life and basketball Coach-Emma and a great week away supporting and being supported by people I admire and respect. Hoops Never Sleeps!! 👊 
A week of basketball awesomeness filled with laughs, tears, injuries, dramas and budding friendships. So glad and honoured to have been a part of it and can’t wait to play with you all again! Thanks, Coach, you are a saint to put up with all of us the way you did! - Aina |
